Insights of Human Rights Violations against Scheduled Castes

Abstract

Despite constitutional guarantees and a robust legal framework, Scheduled Castes (SCs) in India continue to endure systemic and pervasive human rights violations. This paper encompasses the empirical patterns to examine the nature, causes, and consequences of violations against SC communities. It further investigates the spectrum of crimes and abuses against SCs under Indian Penal Code, Special laws and SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act over the past decade. The analysis highlights implementation gaps, institutional bias, and entrenchedsocial norms as the persistent barriers. It concludes by proposing a multi-faceted strategy that amalgamates legal reform, preventative measures, accountability, and social transformation.
